ABOUT MALA BEADS
Traditionally, 108 Mala beads are strung together with one larger bead called a guru bead often decorated with a tassel. The guru bead helps to mark the beginning or end of the cycle of repetition.
The method of prayer or meditation is used by many religions of the world to help the mind focus on private thoughts or for the counting of mantras by aiding japa (repetition). Or may simply be used to stop the mind racing and replace negative thoughts with positive ones.
Usually wrapped around the right wrist as a bracelet it is believed they should never touch the ground, touch your feet or be used by others.
